James David Brooks
It is with great sadness that the family of James David "Jim" Brooks announces his passing on on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at the age of 79 years. He will be forever remembered and is survived by his wife, Meda Brooks, daughters Paige Brooks and KC Rudolph (Jonathan), sons Clayton Boyette (Melissa) and Lee Wallace (Melissa), grandchildren CJ and Isabella Boyette, other grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Christine and BJ Brooks and sisters, Geraldine Kelley and Louise Woodfin.
A native of Phenix City, Alabama, he graduated from the University of Alabama Law School in 1964. He relocated to Mobile, Alabama where he led a successful career as an attorney for 54 years and served on the Board of Directors for The SSI Group for 30 years. He went above and beyond for his clients and many became great friends. Despite his successful career, he considered one of his greatest accomplishments to be when he was chosen as the All Bi-City "Athlete of the Year" in 1957 when he excelled in baseball, basketball, and football. He had a passion for helping others, loved Alabama football, and was the master of storytelling. His life stories will live on forever.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home beginning at 12:00 p.m. with Dr. Larry Thompson officiating. The family will begin receiving friends at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be offered at www.mobilefuneralservice.com.
