James Moody, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on July 29, 2023, in Mobile, Alabama. He was born on December 29, 1931, in the same city he called home throughout his life. James was a remarkable individual who will forever be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family and his deep-rooted compassion for all.
James's academic journey began at Murphy High School, where he obtained his high school diploma in 1949. Following his graduation, he pursued higher education at Spring Hill College and graduated in 1955.
He demonstrated immense bravery by serving his country during the Korean War. While James had many notable achievements throughout his lifetime, none were as precious to him as his long-lasting marriage to Charlotte Dawson Moody. Their union began in 1955 and spanned an incredible 68 years filled with love, joy, and unyielding devotion. Their marriage was an example of everlasting commitment and provided a solid foundation for their beautiful family.
James's journey through life was not confined solely to his pursuits of academia and military service. He possessed a zest for life that ignited his passion for various activities. Whether it was playing softball with friends, teeing off on the golf course, or surprising others with his moves in Zumba until the age of 86, James approached every endeavor with enthusiasm and an infectious spirit.
James leaves behind his loving wife, Charlotte Moody; children, David Moody, Jamie Boyles, and Randy Moody.
James Moody may no longer be physically present amongst us, but his spirit will continue to live on through the memories we cherish forever. Let us find solace in knowing that he has joined eternal peace while leaving behind a legacy that will inspire generations to come.
