James Arthur Davis, Jr. of Atmore, Al passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2020, at the age of 79. James died peacefully with his beloved wife Mildred by his side. He was born in Monroeville, Al on September 23, 1941, to Arthur and Ola Davis. James was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. He is survived by his wife Mildred Towers Davis; his sister Barbara Ruth Struxness; children James Davis, Jason Davis, Jana Tindell, and Melissa Osborne; stepchildren Darryl Huff, Gayle Steelman, Debi Towers, and Fred McDavid and many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.

James was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a proud member of the Porch Creek Indian Tribe. James committed his career to the service of others. After serving in the Air Force, he retired from the Pritchard Fire Department and then obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, after which he spent many years as a registered nurse in the surgical department. He will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family and friends.

A visitation for James is planned for Tuesday, November 10, 2020, from 10 am to 12 pm. The visitation will be at the Mobile Memorial Garden Funeral Home. The funeral will follow immediately at 12 pm. Burial in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
