James Heritage Obituary

James (Jim) E. Heritage, born January 26, 1934, died unexpectedly at a local hospital. He was born in Shuqualak, MS, and raised in Aliceville, AL. He married Faye Emanuel, lived and raised his family in Mobile, AL.

He is preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Mable Heritage, brother John Heritage and sisters Ellen Ruth Lashley, Clara Ann Harris and Sarah Reece. He is survived by wife of 64 years, Faye Heritage, daughter Leigh (Jack) Webb, son Mark (Stephanie) Heritage, five grandchildren Dustin (Colleen) Poole, Parker (Brett) Bowling, Taylor, Ryan and Jamison Heritage. Two great-grandchildren Nolan and Harper Poole. One brother A.J. Heritage and several nieces and nephews.

Jim was a Korean war veteran in the army. He graduated with a Masters degree in Pharmacy at Auburn University, and was an avid Auburn fan. He worked as Chief Pharmacist at the University of South Alabama, from where he retired.

Jim loved his family unconditionally. He enjoyed having family and friend gatherings especially during the holidays.

A visitation for Jim will be held Wednesday, December 13, 2023 from 11:00 am- 12:00 pm at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral and chapel service at 12noon. . In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials may be made to St. Judes Children's Hospital.
