James Edward (Ed) Keyes passed from this earth to his heavenly home on February 25th, 2021 in Ormond Beach, FL, surrounded by his loving family. Ed was a beloved worship pastor for almost 60 years. He was born in Memphis, TN but lived in Mobile, AL most of his life. He served churches in LA, TX and TN as well. Ed ministered at Cottage Hill Baptist Church in Mobile for 31 years; 5 years at First Baptist Church in Opelika, AL, and 13 years at Luke 4:18 Fellowship in Mobile.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Janice Shirley Keyes; their son, David (Ellen) Keyes; daughter Marci (Derrick) Shirley; his grandchildren, Jordan (Heather) Keyes, Jackson (Emma) Keyes, Braden (Stacey) Keyes, Noah Keyes, Eli, Isaiah, Carmen, Jesse, Ciera and Samuel Shirley and great-grandchildren, Beckett and Kellan Keyes. Ed is also survived by his sister, Joanne (Leonard) Ortiz and brother-in-laws, John (Debbie) Shirley and Calvin (Carol) Shirley and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. A private family service will be live streamed Tuesday, March 2, for the public online on Luke 4:18 Fellowship's Facebook page or at http://www.Luke418Fellowship.org. The family wishes to express gratitude to the members of Luke 4:18 Fellowship in Mobile and Salty Church in Ormond Beach for the kindness shown to Ed and Jan.
