James Duane Mickey, 80, a native of Kansas and recent resident of Mobile, passed away February 02, 2020 at home. He is survived by his wife of 60 years , Billie. Three children: Two sons, Allen (Lisa), and Travis (Leslie), and one daughter, Rhonda (Roy). Five grandchildren: Lisa ,Ryan, Devlin Autumn and Naomi. Two great-grandchildren: Lydia and Eli.
He is preceded in death by both his parents, John and Jennie, as well as his two brothers and two sisters.; J.R., Charles Parsons, Mary and Donna Jean.
James was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1962. He was very active in volunteer work as well as devoted to the construction and maintenance of Kingdom Halls.
He was an electrician by trade, but loved woodworking in his spare time. Many never saw him without a tool belt and he was known for always staying busy. He loved cooking, traveling, all kinds of music and spending time with friends and family.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 12:00 pm Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
