James Norsworthy

James Bernard Norsworthy was born December 24,1927 and died peacefully on April 23, 2022. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Betty Lou Norsworthy, his parents Bernard and Ruby Norsworthy, his brother John T. Norsworthy, and sister Diane Norsworthy Mothershed.

James is survived by his children, J. Keith Norsworthy (Lori Ann), Judy Matheney, Nancy Sheffield (Ronnie), Susan Spencer, and Terry Norsworthy. Along with his 14 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. As well as his sisters, Louise Kinloch, Mary Alice Blow, and brother in law Russell Mothershed and many nieces and nephews.

James and his wife Betty, were well respected residents in the Saraland community for many years where they attended Shiloh Baptist church. As a couple they were actively involved in the Guys and Dolls Square Dance Association. They spent their last years as residents of Daphne, Al where they joined Spanish Trail Baptist Church. James was a faithful member for over 70 years, of the Pentalpha Masonic Lodge #804, and in more recent years, the Spanish Fort Masonic Lodge #916. He also greatly enjoyed his time as a member and driver for the Abba Shriners of Mobile, Al for many years. This opportunity allowed him to help transport children in need of special medical attention, to the Shriners Hospital. James was an avid Alabama football, that passed his love of the Crimson Tide on to the rest of his family. He was a season ticket holder for many years traveling all over the country supporting his team with a big ROLL TIDE!

Graveside services will be held Saturday, April,30,2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Mobile Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his honor to:
