PUTNOKY
James Ernest Putnoky, longtime resident of Mobile, Alabama, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 17th, 2018, surrounded by family at the age of 70 years.Born on May 9, 1947 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, he was destined to make his mark on this world in brave and fearless ways. He honorably served his country as a Marine and fought in the Vietnam War. Throughout his life he proudly exemplified what it was to be a United States Marine. His motto: "Once a Marine, always a Marine." For over 30 years, he dedicated himself as a special U.S. Customs Agent, traveling around the world and earning numerous awards for his hard work and dedication. In January 2000, James earned his retirement and spent the next 18 years getting some much needed relaxation. He instilled in his kids, "Family First," and taught them that family is always there for each other. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards, indulging in John Wayne movies and going to the casinos.James is proceeded in death by his parents, Ernest and Helen (née Fekete) Putnoky, and his sister Beverly Dwyer.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years Mary Ann (née Scott), his children Jason and Kimberly, his brother Thomas, and many nieces, nephews, family and friends who loved him so very much. A celebration of James' life will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, March 23rd, 2018 from 10am - 12pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a contribution to the American Cancer Society or to the Seven Hills Fire Rescue District in his honor.
