James Robinson

January 24, 1929 — July 25, 2017

James Walter Robinson of Brooklyn, Alabama was born January 24, 1929 in Biloxi, Mississippi to Gurdon Allen Robinson and Irene Eve Robinson. James died July 25, 2017 after a brief illness. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Christopher Allen Robinson. James graduated from Murphy High School, Class of 45, in Mobile, Alabama. He worked the shipyards and various other jobs, before being accepted into Civil Service at Brookley AFB in 1949. James married Betty Frances Williams on July 27, 1949 and they were married 68 years. James progressed in the maintenance division and after completing additional schooling thru the Air Force he stepped into shop management. After the closing of Brookley he transferred to the Pensacola Naval Air Station and served in various positions until his retirement in 1985. After his retirement, he and Betty moved to his family's ancestral home in Brooklyn, Alabama "The Farm". James was a member of the Brooklyn Baptist Church and a member of a Masonic Lodge. He is survived by Betty and two sons, Thomas Earl Robinson (Lyn) and Daniel Allen Robinson, both of Gulf Breeze, Florida; grandson, Jason Thomas Robinson (Lindsey); granddaughter, Jacqueline Renee Sienkiewicz (Roth) and great-grandsons, Evan Jason Robinson and Connor Thomas Robinson. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Allen Robinson of Mobile, Alabama, a niece, two nephews, and two great nephews. Many thanks to friends and family for prayers and support. Special thanks to Andalusia Health, Andalusia, Alabama for the special care and support. There will be a visitation on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, Mobile, Alabama with services following at 2:00 PM in the chapel. Burial will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for contributions to the boysandgirlsranches.org in James Robinson's memory.
