James C. Serda, 92 of Mobile, AL, passed away on Sunday. He worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC Camp) during World War II. He retired from the U.S.Marine Corps after serving 24 years as MSGT/E-8. James served in four wars and went around the world almost two times. He received numerous decorations, medals, citations, badges and ribbons during his tour of duty. He was a member of Our Savior Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. James was preceded in death by his wife Betty Serda, his brother Peter Serda and his parents. He is survived by his sisters Irene Sawicki and Jannie Doyle, brother Francis Serda, his loving nieces and nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be on Saturday, October 24, 2015 from 9 to 10 am at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, followed by graveside services at 10 am in
Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Heart Association or Cancer Foundation. Condolences may be offered at www.mobilememorialfunerals.com.
