James Martin Tabor, a native of Baton Rouge, LA and current resident of Theodore, AL, passed away Friday, January 27, 2017 at the age of 72 after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family. Jim was a retired industrial sales executive. He was a lifelong outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Whitmell Martin Tabor, Sr. and Elizabeth "Bettye" Lyle Evans Tabor; his son, Damon Tabor, and his sister, Amy Tabor Roberts. Jim is survived by his wife, Karen Cantrell Tabor; his son, Michael Tabor; his sister, Susan Tabor; his brother, Whitmell Martin "Whit" (Helen) Tabor, Sr.; his grandchildren; other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, Jim requested that memorial donations in his name be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, USA Mitchell Cancer Institute or Shriner's Hospital for Children. The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to the physicians and staffs of USA Mitchell Cancer Institute and Springhill Home Health and Hospice for their professional care of Jim and support to his family.
