Jane Ferrouillat King, 81, of Daphne, AL, passed away March 23, 2017 in Mobile, AL. Visitation will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Mobile, AL on Monday, March 27, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Christ the King Catholic Church in Daphne, AL on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 12:00 Noon with Reverend Fr. Matthew O'Connor officiating. Burial will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Jane was born Jane Katheryn Ferrouillat in Irvington, AL to Henri Joseph and Hattie Childers Ferrouillat on December 14, 1935. She attended Bishop Toolen High School and graduated in 1954. She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a longtime resident of Mobile before moving to Daphne in early 2016. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, Atlanta Braves baseball and spending time with her family. Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Grover P. King, Jr.; her parents, Henri and Hattie Childers Ferrouillat; two brothers, Joseph and John Ferrouillat; one sister, Marjorie Ferrouillat; and one granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth King. Jane is survived by her sister, Lucille Wiggins of Mobile, AL; daughter, Deborah Madden; son, Gregory (Kathryn) King; two grandchildren, Stephanie (Robert) Hoover and Amanda (Tanner) Martiniere; four great-grandchildren, Hayden and Rielynn Hoover and Colt and Emma Martiniere, and sister-in-law, Dorothy Scott. Active pallbearers will be Tanner Martiniere, Robert Hoover, Paul Pearman, Tommy Lynch, Aubrey Wiggins, Daniel Ferrouillat, Joseph Greer and Hunter Griffin. Honorary pallbearers will be Hayden Hoover, Colt Martiniere, Oliver "Benny" Anderson, Michael Scott, Stephen Scott and Darryl Ferrouillat. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the nurses, doctors and staff of Thomas Hospital and the Mobile Infirmary LTACH for their outstanding care, support and compassion in her final days.
