Jean Rumpanos Dunn, age 75, died November 19, 2016. She passed away in her home surrounded by her family after a battle with liver cancer that she endured with incredible strength and courage. Jean was born in Mobile, AL March 14, 1941. She was the daughter of Dr. Socrates and Mrs. Gertrude Rumpanos and was a lifelong resident of Mobile. Jean lived for spending time with her husband, George, children and grandchildren; was a charter member of Little Lagoon Preservation Society and loved spending time on the water, eating fresh seafood, and the color blue. She was a wonderful artist, a magnificent cook, and one of the most graceful water skiers ever to grace Dog River. She was a wonderful, loving mother, grandmother, wife and friend. She will be missed more than words can express. Jean was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Sheila Rumpanos Glade. She is survived by her loving husband, George, who was her best friend. She is also survived by her daughter, Michelle Hale (Shane); her son, Chris Anderson (Kelly); five grandsons, Bret Anderson, Dylan Hale, Brody Hale, Reece Hale and Chase Anderson; one granddaughter, Addison Anderson; stepsons, Jeff and Stacy Dunn and their families; her nephew, Vincent Zugay (Alexis) and niece, Elona Menge (Dan) and their children. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home chapel Tuesday at 12:00 Noon. Entombment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Mrs. Dunn's name be made to Little Lagoon Preservation Society, P. O. Box 3193, Gulf Shores, AL 36547.
