Jean Faggard

Jean Jones Faggard, 89, died Monday, September 30, 2019. She spent her married years as a resident of the Mobile, Al area and last resided in Coden, AL. Jean was born March 21, 1930, in Eastland, Texas; the youngest of 5 children. She married Noah L “Lucky” Faggard, Jr. in Lucedale, MS on January 13, 1948. She was preceded in death by her husband Noah Levert Faggard Jr., her parents Lewis Benson Jones, Sr. and Mary Escue Hayles, and her brothers Lewis Benson (Lew), Alvin Heyl (Al), William Frederick (Freddie) and sister Mary Escue Jones Frost (Escue). She is survived by her children, Shelia (Wendell) Kennedy, Noah Douglas (Roberta) Faggard, both of Sweetwater, TN, Rebecca (Chris) Walling of Gautier, MS, Mark (Tena) Faggard of Coden, AL and Shauna (Scott) Crenshaw of Axis, AL, her grandchildren-Lisa (Tom) Tran, Shawn (Liz) Kennedy, Karragan (Anna) Faggard, Jeffery (Regina) Faggard, Charisse (Todd) Smith, Andrew (Meagan) Faggard, John Faggard, Noah Faggard, Micah (Joey) McKibben, Abby (Preston) Sasser, her great-grandchildren, Ava, Ellis, Vera and Quinn Kennedy, Douglas and Michael Faggard, Allie and Carlee Smith, Aven McKibben and Davey Robinson; nieces and nephews, sister Escue’s family, Shirley Sweatt, Gladys (Tom) Myers, Brenda Jean (Delano) Raines and Charlotte (Jim) Hall. Brother Lew’s family, LB-Butch (Joann) Jones, Vichai Jones and Patricia Louise (Gary) Estes. Brother Alvin’s family, Deborah Maisel (Edward) Schnee, John Jones and many other family members and friends.

Jean worked as a bookkeeper/accountant for almost 30 years in the Mobile area. Jean was an accomplished seamstress and she tried her hands at many other hobbies like stained glass and house plants. Her love of nature flowed down to her children and grandchildren.

Funeral services and visitation will be held from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Friday evening October 4 from 5 pm -7 pm. The funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 5, at 10:00 am. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
