Jimmie Claud Barnes, born in the Longino community of Philadelphia, Mississippi, died at the age of 78 at USA Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Aline Walter Barnes and his parents, J.R. "Roy" Barnes and Sadie Creekmore Barnes. He is survived by his brother, Lodessa Creekmore, a nephew, Dan Creekmore, 6 great nieces and nephews, 2 great great nephews and 1 great great great nephew. He was a longtime resident of Country Club Village off of Old Shell Road and his favorite pastime was fishing. He had several employers in the Mobile area over the years, the last of which was Alabama Dry Dock and Shipbuilding (ADDSCO). He will truly be missed by all who loved him. Funeral services will be held from Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Monday, August 24, 2015 at 2 PM. Visitation starts at noon. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
