Jimmy Booker

Jimmy Roger Booker, age 82, resident of Mobile, Alabama, passed away peacefully on February 19th, 2025, in Mobile. Jimmy was born on July 6th, 1942, in Meridian, Mississippi. He was a graduate of Vigor high school and went on to work as a railroad engineer for CSX railroad for 37 years. Jimmy was an avid golfer and taught himself how to be a master golf club repairman. He enjoyed bowling tournaments and in his younger years had a fascination with slot car racing. 

Jimmy is preceded in death by; his father, Roger Eowin Booker; his mother, Bessie Irene Privett Booker; his sisters, Carolyn Booker and Frances Joan Booker Huff; his brother, Gary Booker; and his son-in-law, David Henry Etheridge. 

He is survived by; his loving wife, Patsy Janice Hayes Booker of Mobile, Alabama; his daughters, Valarie Lynne Booker Etheridge of Mobile, Alabama, and Tina Marie Booker (Robert Stephen) Hanley of Mobile, Alabama; her granddaughters, Jessica Layne Etheridge (Brent Cameron) Vegeliacich, Serenbe of Serenbe Farms, Georgia, and Natalie Lynne Etheridge of Mobile, Alabama; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Jimmy Booker will be held on Wednesday, February 26th, 2025, at 2:00 P.M.; at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Lee Merck pastor of Dauphin Way Baptist officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Wednesday, February 26th, from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M.
