Joan Gwendolyn (Gwen) Johnson reunited with her beloved husband of over 60 years, Ora Johnson, on April 14th 2018 at the age of 86. She was born on July 2, 1931 and became the proprietor of the Catalina Seafood Restaurant in 1965 alongside her husband Ora Johnson until her passing. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Barrisa and Claude Ryan, her brothers, Norman, Bernard and Rodney Ryan, her son-in-law Leroy Waters, and the love of her life Ora Johnson. She was the matriarch of 5 generations, 4 of which she was survived by. She was survived by 3 children, Jane Johnson Waters, Kathy Johnson (Jimmy) Cobb, and Zephia Johnson, 3 grandchildren Lee Waters, Darrisha Waters (Ricky) Zirlott, and Ashley Waters, 5 great-grandchildren: Marrisa Collier (Chris) Porter, Kaylee Collier (Kendall) Howard, Chandler Collier, Alena Waters and Landon Waters, 8 great-grest-grandchildren: Presley Collier, Alexis Collier, Makayla Howard, Kenlee Howard, Caden Porter, Drake Howard, Carson Pope, and Preston Pope. Cherished by her many friends and family, Gwen will be deeply missed. Funeral services will be held from Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 12 noon. Visitation will start at 10 am Wednesday. Burial will be in Oddfellow Cemetery.
