JoAnn Peacock McCarthy, a native of Buffalo, NY and longtime resident of Mobile, AL, left us on May 11, 2016 to join her husband, James Edward McCarthy in Heaven. JoAnn was a loving, selfless and devoted mother, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. She leaves her memories to be cherished by her twin daughters, Deirdra (Wes) McKean and Daniell (Scott) Striplin; her granddaughters, Jessica, Ashley, Alexis and Victoria; her grandsons, James, Matthew and Hunter; seven great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, May 16, 2016 at 11:00 AM from St. Dominic Catholic Church, 4156 Burma Road, Mobile, AL 36693. The family will receive friends at the Church Monday beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in JoAnn's memory to St. Dominic's El Salvador Missions, 4156 Burma Road, Mobile, AL 36693.
