Joe Aldrich

July 3, 1936 — February 18, 2025

On February 18, 2025, Joe LeRoy Aldrich, of Mobile, Alabama, passed away at Mobile Infirmary Hospital. He was born on July 3, 1936, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Mary Jones and Joseph Aldrich. Joe was a 1954 graduate of Murphy High School. He proudly served in the US Marine Corps from 1954 until he was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant in 1957. He was also very proud to serve as a member of the City of Mobile Fire Department from 1959 until his retirement as Administrative Assistant to the Fire Chief in 1991. He was a member of the Marine Corps League, American Legion and VFW.

Joe accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior in 1990. He loved reading the Bible daily with his beloved and attending Oak Park Church of God of which he was a member. Joe’s quick wit and sense of humor was second to none; he loved to laugh and to make others laugh. He liked cars, riding his Harley Davidson and watching a variety of sports, especially Alabama football. He loved his family and they loved him.

Joe will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 37 years, Patricia Clark Aldrich; brother David C. Aldrich; sister-in-law Carolyn Clark Ingram (Charlie); children, Paul R. Clarke, Michael B. Clarke (Nilsa), Sherri Clarke Dedon (Terry), Patrick W. Clarke (Lee Anne) and Iris J. Clarke; grandchildren, Brooke Aldrich Ridings (Justin); Matthew, Philip and William Clarke; Lauren Clarke Hemme (Christian), Maria Clarke Acosta (Alex), and Michael N. Clarke; Samuel, Simon, Sophia and Saylor Dedon; and Cassidy Jerkins Hoeft (Ricky), Amberly Clarke Montgomery (Jonathan), and Brady Clarke; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his son, Eric J. Aldrich, parents, mother-in-law, sister-in-law and brother-in-law.

Services will be held Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at the chapel at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 6040 Three Notch Rd., Mobile, AL 36619. A visitation will be held from 9am to 10am with funeral and graveside services to follow. Interment will be at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery
