Joel Allen

Joel Cary Allen left his earthly body on September 26, 2019 to receive this whole body with Jesus for eternity. Joel fought kidney and liver failure for several years. Joel was a restaurant Manager for several local restaurants Tommy’s Terminal & Rousso’s Restaurant. His favorite years were Hello Deli Days. He loved to sing and do solo’s at his church. He was a member at Luke 4:18 for many years and loved the Opera and Musicals. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Lee Allen and his mother, Jennie Freedman. Joel is survived by his step-mother, Dessie Lancaster, step-brother, Burn Barnett; his wife, Janice Harris Allen; son, Clay Hunter Allen, Nashville, TN; daughter, Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Allen (Brian) Laro; son, Grant Kirk Coggin, Mobile, AL; Grandchildren, Ashleigh Allen, Allysen Allen, Tulsa, OK; Parker and Dylan Walson, Denver, CO; Christian, Coggin, Karleigh Coggin, Katelyn Coggin, Mobile and other relatives. Funeral services will be held from Mobile Memorial gardens Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at 12 noon. Visitation will start at 10 am.Burial will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
