Joel Loyd, Sr.

Mr. Joel Franklin Loyd, Sr. age 74. Born on March 5, 1942, passed away on May 18, 2016. He was a member of Schillinger Road Missionary Baptist Church. Joel retired after 48 years of dedication and service from Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery & was an avid Nascar fan. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Laura Ruth Loyd; two children, Joel "Frankie" (Cheri) Loyd, Jr., Susie Loyd Powell; sister, Lena Mae Phillips; seven grandchildren, Rachael (Russell) McCarthy, Adam Loyd, Jared Loyd, Desiree' Powell, Jillian Powell, Miranda Powell and Alexis Powell. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Monday 12 noon until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
