John Bryars

June 15, 1927-May 15, 2019

John Bryant Bryars, Jr., a native of Atmore, AL and longtime resident of Saraland, AL, died Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at the age of 91.  He retired from Teledyne Continental after 30 years of service.  His immediate family and his church family at Lafitte Baptist Church in Saraland, AL were very important to him.  He was a very spiritual leader and mentor to all.  His survivors include his wife of 69 years, Helen Stanley Bryars; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, John Bryant Bryars, Sr. and Abbie Gail Fickling Bryars; his brother, Albert Bryars; two sisters, Velma Bryars Littles and Beatrice Bryars Rabun.  The family will receive friends Sunday evening, May 19, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Lafitte Baptist Church, 3201 Lafitte Road, Saraland, AL.  Funeral services will be held from the church Monday, May 20, 2019 at 11:00 AM.
