John Elder

John Howard Elder, 71, of Mobile, AL passed away on March 20, 2024.

John was born on July 13, 1952 in Chicksaw, AL to William Howard Elder and Sue Stringfellow Elder. John graduated from Murphy High School in 1970 and later attended the University of Alabama, where he graduated in 1988 with a Bachelor's degree in science. John loved watching the Atlanta Braves play baseball and watching the Alabama Crimson Tide play football. When he was not busy cheering on his teams, he enjoyed listening to Rhythm and Blues Classics.

John is preceded in death by his parents, William and Sue Elder.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mary Elder; sister, Susanne Trivett of Foley, AL; uncle, Gene (Dawn) Stringfellow of Lucedale, MS; aunt, Eily Amrich of Foley, AL.

John's family will honor his memory with a funeral service held on Monday March 25, 2024 at 11:00 am from the graveside at Mobile Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Monday March 25 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
