John Greer

John Branan Greer, age 92 went home to heaven on Nov. 26, 2024. He was born April 16, 1932 to Arthur and Julia Greer in Birmingham, Alabama. He had one younger brother, Lee V. Greer. He followed in his father's footsteps and worked with him in the maintenance department at Mobile Infirmary hospital, he retired after 42 years as supervisor of the department. He served two years in the army in the Korean War. He met his wife Patricia Elaine Greer on a blind date, and they later married in 1957. They have two children. He and his wife loved to travel with their fifth wheel camper. They traveled to many places and met many new and wonderful friends. He also enjoyed spending most of his time outdoors cleaning his yard and truck and watching the birds. He was a man of few words. He was a sweet, gentle person with a quiet smile and spread love to everyone in his presence. He packed so much love into 92 years. He is survived by his wife Patricia Elaine Greer of 67 years, daughter Angie Greer, son Jeff (melissa) Greer, three granddaughters, Leslie (Bigman) Greer, Cassidy (Teddy) Allen and Ashley (Petey) Petersen. Four great grandchildren, Cole, Nolan, Brooklyn and Drake, and many other friends and relatives. He also had kind and loving caregivers, Ms. Geri, Robin, Victoria, and Ms. Jo. Those that preceded him in death include his parents and brother Lee V. Greer.

A graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday, Dec 3rd at 12:00 P.M. Family and friends please meet in the funeral home at 11:30.
