John Edgar Reid, of Mobile, Alabama, age 75, passed away on Friday at a local hospital. He was born in Montgomery, Alabama to Beatrice Beasley Reid and John Brewer Reid, Jr. He leaves his memories to be cherished by his wife, Mary Frances Reid, and his children, Tera Reid Johnson (Keith) and John Slade Reid (Mandy); and his stepchildren, Connie Cook (Kent) and Kelly Lasky (Mark); and his brother, Robert G. Reid. He was predeceased by his wife of 36 years, Gail Lambert Reid, also of Mobile, Alabama. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Katherine Gail "Kate" Johnson, John Michael Reid, Laura Knizley Freeman, Libby Knizley, Jessica Fritz and Noah Fritz, in-laws, several nieces and nephews and many friends. Services will be held at Christ United Methodist Church on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 11:00 am with visitation from 9:00 am - 11:00 am at the church. Burial will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens. Johnny had many good friends and never met a stranger. He was "CEO" of the McDonald's coffee club on Cottage Hill Road for over 25 years. He was always ready with a quick joke or a good story and loved sharing his sense of humor and kindness with everyone he met. He will truly be missed.
