Mr. John Allen Shell passed away at home on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the age of 86.
John was born January 19, 1939, in Chatham, LA. to the late Luther G. Shell and the late Lodis E. Tipton Shell. He graduated from Vigor H.S. in 1957. Later, he joined the U.S. Army, serving for 4 years. He was stationed in the DMZ Korea from 1962-63. He worked as a sheet metal worker starting with Local 441. He was a long-time member of Satsuma Baptist Church, where he served many hours working in the food pantry to help those in need. In John's later years, he joined Creola Community Church where he enjoyed participating in the many services and events.
He was a character like no other and had many dear loyal friends and family who knew of his generous nature. Many charities benefited from that generosity, as well. He trusted the Lord to get him through his life in all the ups and downs life brings.
He leaves behind a sister, Linda Raines (Bobby); brother Terry Shell (Frances); brother-in-law Henry D. Lockett; a step-daughter Ramona Pickens; a step-son Andy Rawls (Carmen), and family; and two grandsons. As well as, many dear nieces and a special nephew.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister Yvonne Lockett and his wife Betty Shell.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 10:00 AM, at Creola Community Church; with visitation from 9:00 - 10:00 AM.
