John Druary "Dru" Slaughter III, age 52, passed away on August 26, 2022 in Houston Texas
with his loving wife, Ashley by his side. Dru fought his 13 month battle with kidney cancer hard
and with dignity. He was a long time resident of Mobile, AL and currently was a resident of
Foley, AL. Dru was born in Auburn, AL to John and Karan Slaughter on February 27, 1970. Dru

some college, but found his true calling when he began his career with UPS in March of 1989.
Dru loved his job, his customers, and his co-workers, but especially the "Brown Bandits". He
loved a good and competitive game of corn hole, Auburn football, hunting, car racing with his
Dad in his younger days, but his favorite hobby was bass fishing. Dru liked to fix things and was

others and was known for his sense of humor by always playing jokes on people. To know Dru
was to love him. He never met a stranger, he was a protector, a man of integrity, honor and
loyalty. Dru loved his family fiercely and was so proud of his girls. Dru loved to spend time with
his daughters teaching them his love for hunting and fishing at a very young age. Dru was a
loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend and he loved unconditionally.
Above all Dru loved Jesus.
