Johnny W. Pinckard, age 86, of Mobile, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 2, 2024. Born on June 10, 1938, in Brantley, Alabama, Johnny was a graduate of Brantley High School and a three-letter athlete. He attended Andalusia Business College, majoring in accounting while working part-time with the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT).

Johnny left college to enlist in the U.S. Army's Finance Corps, where he was stationed at the Southern European Task Force Headquarters in Verona, Italy, for three years before being honorably discharged. Upon his return, he embarked on a 37-year career as a civil engineer in highway construction with the Alabama Department of Transportation. He also served more than 20 years in the Alabama Army National Guard, rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant.

After retiring, Johnny worked part-time at LifeTouch Portraits until the business relocated. His greatest joys in life were his family, coaching youth baseball, and playing billiards. He dedicated over 20 years to coaching youth baseball at Boykin Park and later at Mathews Park, inspiring a love of the game in countless children. Following the passing of his beloved wife, he rekindled his passion for billiards, playing daily at the Connie Hudson Senior Center, where he forged new friendships with fellow seniors.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; Johnie Lee and Roberta (Stokes) Pinckard, beloved wife, Kay Pinckard, and son; Timothy Pinckard.

He is survived by his oldest son, Robert (Rene), grandsons; Wesley Pinckard (Shelby), Ryan Pinckard (Sidney), Timothy Adams, and Taylor Adams (Coral), great-grandson; Timothy Pinckard, Annalyn Pinckard, Baker Adams, and Boone Adams; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Serenity Gardens Cemetery, 8691 Old Pascagoula Road, Theodore, AL 36582.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Billiard Room at the Connie Hudson - Mobile Regional Senior Community Center Foundation (MRSCCF), P.O.
