Joseph Carlton Norwood, a native of Evergreen, AL and longtime resident of Mobile, AL, died Friday, August 11, 2017 at the age of 81. He was a US Navy veteran and retired from Scott Paper after many years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Oliver Norwood and Myrtle Daniels Norwood and his sister, Merle Norwood Sirmon. His survivors include his wife, Helen Jane Booker Norwood; two sons, Jeff D. (Monica) Norwood and Jason Oliver Norwood; his brother, Danny Norwood; one sister, Melba Norwood Williams; two grandchildren, Brooke Norwood and Courtlyn Norwood; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 12:00 Noon until service time. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
