Joseph O'Gwynn

Joseph Louis O'Gwynn of Mobile, age 85, devoted husband and father, passed away August 20, 2021. He was born October 13, 1935 to William Edward and Josephine Louise (Driskell) O'Gwynn in Grand Bay, AL. He married his sweetheart, Jeannie Louise (Prine) O'Gwynn on November 3, 1956. He grew up in Grand Bay and lived most of his life in Mobile. A man of many talents and abilities, he never shied away from hard work, something he instilled in all of his children. He tilled the earth, built with his hands and could fix or solve just about anything. He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers, George Driskell O'Gwynn, Otis Edward O'Gwynn, Ames Kenneth O'Gwynn and Sidney Levonne O'Gwynn; and 1 sister, Sara Jocelyn (O'Gwynn) Whitley. He is survived by his wife and 3 daughters, Cheryl Lynn (O'Gwynn) Williams of Clyde, N. C., Karen Audrey (O'Gwynn) Henderson of Semmes, AL. and Mary Ann (O'Gwynn) Wyllie of Seattle, WA.; and 1 son, Joseph Louis O'Gwynn, Jr. of Harlingen, TX.; 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held August 25, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
