Joy Ann (Stevens) Williamson, 78 years old, of Mobile, AL, passed away on July 8th, 2023, at her home with her husband, Samuel Lamar Williamson by her side. Joy Ann was born to the late Berton Rowan Stevens and Yvonne Celeste (Aucoin) Stevens on April 28, 1945. She attended Phillips Preperatory School and graduated from Murphy High School in 1963. Joy Ann and S.L. were married on March 9th, 1968, and have two daughters, Margaret (Peg) Celeste Lawrence (Joe Lawrence), and Deborah (Debbie) Marie Turner (Clint Turner), and four grandsons, Justice Rowan Turner, Caleb Tyler Turner, Samuel (Sammie) David Turner, and Joseph (Roe) Monroe Lawrence IV. Joy Ann is survived by her five siblings, Ron Stevens (Becky), Carol Hackbarth (Rob), Bert "Jr." Stevens, Debbie McCutchen (Jerry), and David Stevens (Cindy). Joy Ann devoted her life to ministering to everyone around her, all over the world. She became a Christian on April 6, 1975, and was on fire for God. Joy Ann and S.L. were members of Cottage Hill Baptist Church and went in to the mission field to Brazil in 1982. After serving two years in Brazil, the two of them continued to spread God's word and touched so many lives throughout Mobile, AL, Leakesville, MS, Gardendale, AL, and then to this family at Luke 4:18 Fellowship. She brought JOY everywhere she went. She certainly was named perfectly.
