On October 18, 2019 Juanita Catherine Mullis Turner went home. Better known as “Nanny” to so many, Cathy was born to William Bisbee Mullis and Alma Baker Mullis in Mobile, AL making it her lifelong home. The youngest of three, Cathy is preceded in death by parents, sisters, Josephine Mullis, & Ida Mae Flowers (William B. Flowers), brother, William B. Mullis, Jr. (Jackie Mullis), nephew, David Flowers, nieces, Angela Flowers & Gay Mullis, and brother-in-law, Buzz Busby.
Cathy is survived by her best friend and husband, William B. Turner who she introduced to Christ over 43 years ago. Both were devoted long time members of Cottage Hill Baptist Church and later Luke 4:18 under the guidance of Pastor Fred Wolfe. Together they have; sons, Darryl Vincent, Juan Vincent, William B. Turner, Jr. and Jonathan Turner (Crystal); daughter, Christy Alma Turner, sister, Loretta Busby, as well as many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
“Nanny Cathy” will forever be remembered for her love of people, particularly children. She loved animals but the focus of her life was always Jesus Christ.
Cathy’s family would like to thank the staff of Saad’s Hospice Care who been their extended family these past few years. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 24, 2019, at 12:00 Noon from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM.
