Katherine Chambliss Jordan
1952 - 2022
Katherine Chambliss Jordan, a long-time resident of Mobile, passed away on Sunday, September 18, surrounded by her family.
Kathy was proceeded in death by her parents Bob and Elsie Chambliss of Semmes, AL.
She was born on July 26, 1952. Kathy was a business owner for many years before working at Beck's Skyline Daycare Center for 19 years and then for the Mobile County Public School System for 17 years before her retirement in 2020. If you knew Kathy, you know how she loved her school babies and how they loved her.
Kathy is survived by Roy Simmons, and by her children Gerald (Bullit) Jones, Trapper Jones, and Kathrine Jordan, and her granddaughter Piper Jones. She is also survived by her five siblings Michael Chambliss, Gary Chambliss, Barbara (Wayne) Cecchi, Sarah Brunson, and Robert (Ginger) Chambliss, along with extended family that includes 9 nieces and nephews and 7 great nieces and nephews, and an extensive amount of cousins whom she all adored.
Kathy lived life big and loud - without apology - and loved every minute of it! She was a 10-year member of a mystic organization. She loved to travel and go to the casinos with her Roy. Kathy loved to laugh. Her laugh could be heard miles away and was infectious. Whether cheering for her Auburn Tigers, her family, a little league game, or her favorite coach, she was so proud, win or lose. She loved loud and lived big!
Kathy's children and Roy would like to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers during this time. She will be missed by all.
