Kathleen Patteson

On Tuesday, July 31, 2018, Kathleen "Kitty" Carol Patteson, loving wife and mother of six children passed away peaceably at home, surrounded by her children. She was 87.
Kitty was born on October 28, 1930 in Grand Bay, Alabama to Sydney L. and Kathryn H. Patteson. She practiced as a nurse for many years prior to working for Marine Builder's as a bookkeeper and then as an accounting specialist for the Mobile School Board. On May 8th, 1952 she married Edward Norman Horton and they raised five children. Kitty had a passion for plants and flowers and particularly loved roses. She was an avid Elvis Presley fan and especially liked his gospel songs. Her faith was exemplified by her membership for many years in the Theodore United Methodist Church and her participation in the choir and many other church activities. Kitty will always be remembered as a kind and compassionate spirit who put her family above all. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward N. Horton, her father Sydney L. Patteson, her mother, Kathryn H. Patteson, her son, Daryl Horton, her grandson Bryan Horton, her great grandson, Aiden Tiffany and her daughter-in-law, Sheryl Horton. She is survived by her five children, Edward N. Horton, Jr (Dolly), Gary L. Horton (Gloria), Kathy L. Bordelon (Keith), Terry L. Horton (Cindy), Lori R. Fraley (Cliff), her sister Joan, her brother Larry, fourteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Friday, August 3rd from 5:30- 8:00 PM at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 6040 Three Notch Road, Mobile, Alabama with funeral services at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Saturday, August 4th at 10:00 AM.
