Kathryn Deanna Davis, age 55, of Mobile, Alabama, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021. Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Kathryn was a graduate of Murphy High School in Mobile, Alabama. She was a 1988 graduate of The University of South Alabama where she majored in International Studies.
Kathryn loved to travel and had a fondness for other cultures, cuisine, and languages. She spoke fluent French, Spanish, German, and Italian. In Germany, she loved the people and the cuisine; in Italy and Europe, she loved the architecture, the languages, and the historic character; in Washington DC, she loved the dogwoods at bloom; in Atlanta, she loved the people and the good times; and in New Orleans, she loved the southern charm and food that spoke to the soul. She is remembered as a beautiful singer and was a member of the Madricals chorus group of Murphy High School. She was passionate about politics among many other interests. She had a truly creative spirit and loved to crochet intricate and special gifts for all her loved ones. She was a generous and loving person with patience and understanding for anyone she met. Kathryn, being the dedicated mother she was, put her creativity to work for many school projects and events that left a lasting impression on any who encountered her masterpieces. She was an excellent cook and was best known for her chicken and dumplings, red beans and rice, and sausage cheese balls which she made with ever loving care. Kathryn was best known by her grandchildren as “Naunny” and loved giving all her time to each and every one of them. She will be forever remembered for loving unconditionally.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Kendrick; mother, Bobbie Davis; and father, William A. Davis Jr.
Survivors include her children, Roberto Emilio Paz (Sheree) and Deanna Esetella Paz (Tyler); grandchildren, Jade and Opal, Marlee and Murphy; sister, Donna McAleer Furrow; brothers; William Clayton Davis (Jamie) and Roy Leon Davis (Mechelle); as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Clayton Davis, Cody Davis, Logan Davis, Jordan Davis, James Hecker, Bryan Gardner, Justin Massingill, and Trent Overstreet.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 22, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 23, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
