Katie Irene Sisson Brown, aged 87, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2017. Katie loved her family and friends. She was well-known by many as Mrs. Brown who taught English at Alba High School. She thoroughly enjoyed keeping up with all her friends and family on Facebook, singing in the choir at Zirlott Road United Methodist Church, and writing in her many journals. She was preceded in death by her husband, "her prince charming," Judson Clifton Brown; her mother, Ellen Nora Zirlott Hare, and stepfather, Roscoe Hare. Katie is survived by her son, Stuart Judson Brown, and daughter-in-law, Jennifer Foster Brown; her granddaughter, Shelby Jene' Gonzalez (Gabriel); grandson, Samuel Jacob Brown; great-granddaugher, Sofia Jene' Gonzalez, and many other loving friends and family members. She was happily anticipating the arrival of her second great-granddaugher, Zyla Grace Gonzalez, in June. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 12:00 Noon until service time. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
