Kay L. Pinckard, age 77, of Mobile, Alabama passed away on Monday, March 22, 2021. Kay was born August 18, 1943 in Evergreen, Alabama and lived there until marrying her husband, Johnny and moving to Mobile for his new work assignment with the Alabama Department of Transportation.
Her rural upbringing developed her into a caring, bright, hardworking and lovable wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
In her early adult years, she held various administrative positions while raising two boys and being involved with all their extracurricular activities. Also, she thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors, spending countless hours working in her yard, working in the family vegetable garden in Evergreen or fishing with family and friends.
Of all her acts of love and selflessness, none is more memorable than her and Johnny's decision to adopt and raised one of their grandson's, Ryan. Being in her 50's and raising a newborn was certainly a challenge even for the youngest at heart, but the joy she received in return was priceless.
Her caring and thoughtfulness has made a lasting impression on so many people she met throughout her lifetime. That genuine love for family and friends will be forever remembered and missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Guy and Hazel (Weaver) Purnell, Brothers; Guy V. and Donald Purnell, son; Timothy L. Pinckard.
Survivors include her husband Johnny W. Pinckard, sons Robert W. (Rene) Pinckard, Ryan (Sidney) Pinckard, grandsons; Wesley Pinckard, Timothy A. Adams and Taylor D. Adams, great-grandson; Timothy O. Pinckard, sisters; Jerry Chandler of Evergreen, Alabama and Mary E. Lee of Brewton, Alabama, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
