Keith Winkler

July 24, 1925 — February 28, 2016

Keith Winkler, a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama died peacefully on Sunday, February 28, at the age of 90. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lyle Anton and Eugenia R. Winkler and his brother Thomas Lyle Winkler.

Mr. Winkler served his country honorably in the United States Army as a Staff Sargent during World War II in both the European and Pacific Theaters. He was a graduate of Murphy High School and the University of Alabama with a degree in accounting. He retired from his own CPA firm the fall of 2015. He was a member of the Jaycees. He volunteered with the Mobile Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America, was a member of the Order of the Arrow and received the Silver Beaver Award. He was a master gardener and a volunteer for the Mobile Botanical Gardens. He was involved in many charitable endeavors including Wilmer Hall, Episcopal Cursillo Ministry, Christian Business Men's Connection, Alabama Society of CPA's, prison ministry as well as an active member of All Saints Episcopal Church.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margaret Van Houten Winkler, his children Rory Winkler, Sara Winkler Little (David), Leigh Winkler Odom (Mike), Randall Anton Winkler (Cynthia), and Bart Allen Winkler (Gabbie); grandchildren, Barklie Winkler Hebert (Skip), Brooke Winkler Parsons (Billy), Margaret Little Eason (Michael), Ryan Odom (Charissa), Garett Odom, Landon Odom, Travis Winkler, Gavin Street, Taylor Winkler, Riley Street, Chase Winkler, Walker Winkler, great grandchildren, Chandler Hebert, Calen Hebert, and Tripp Parsons; other relatives and friends.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, March 2, at All Saints Episcopal Church in the Walker K. Smith Room at 2:00 followed by the service at 3:00 in the sanctuary. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to: All Saints Episcopal Church, 151 S.
