On Sunday, June 19, 2022, Kenneth "Ken" I. McClure, husband and father of two, passed away at the age of 40. Ken was born on August 24, 1981 to his parents, Kenneth "Kenny" R. and Dana (Miller) McClure in Mobile, AL. He was a proud McGill-Toolen Catholic High School graduate and athlete. Ken attended the University of Alabama and received a Bachelor of Science degree in management with a concentration in entrepreneurship small business management. After college, Ken returned to Mobile and founded McClure Environmental, Inc., a debris removal company. In 2007, Ken married Amanda M. Kirchler and had two beautiful children, Olivia Marie (13) and Kenneth "Mack" Ray (11).
Besides his family, Ken loved boating, music, hunting and fishing. He knew about every kind of boat and normally knew where the fish were biting, too. He liked to play his music loud- everything from Hank Williams Jr. to Metallica. Telling stories was something Ken did well- suspenseful and animated. He also had a huge heart for kids and baseball. Coach Ken as many knew him, coached his daughter in tee-ball and his son from tee-ball to his current league of kid pitch.
Ken is survived by his wife, two children, parents and brother, Richard "Tom" McClure, sister-in-law, Ginger (Crane) and nephew (Ayden), and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is predeceased by his grandparents Isom and Martha (Elsler) McClure, Richard and Edna (Taylor) Miller, and cousin Christopher "Chris" Miller.
Celebration of Life visitation and Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at St Dominic Catholic Church 4156 Burma Rd. Mobile, AL 36693. Visitation will begin at 10:00 until Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00. Burial will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens.
