Lawrence Edward "Larry" Adams, age 75, passed away in his home in Mobile, AL June 24, 2018. Larry, (childhood nickname,"Chick"), was born July 11, 1942 in Ponchatoula, LA to Charles and Myrtle Alberta "Bertie" Adams. He attended Ponchatoula High School and then joined the United States Army National Guard. Larry and his family were transferred to Mobile, AL in 1974 to build the Mobile Bay Bridge. He was project manager over this timesaving addition to Mobile roadways. He worked on various other projects in Alabama, Louisiana and Texas throughout his career. He was an active member of the The Baptist Chapel in Grand Bay, AL. Larry was a passionate football fan and avidly followed most pro and college teams, especially the New Orleans Saints and Alabama. He enjoyed reading, cooking and walking his dog, MuttMutt. His survivors include two children and their spouses, Michele and Lewis Li, Chris and Bobbi Adams; his former spouse, Barbara Ann Cannon; two brothers, Nathan Adams and Bobby Adams; seven grandchildren, Christen, Tiffany, Dustin, Lance, Cortani, Alexandria and Ryan; eight great-grandchildren, Hayden, Kaidence, Kynzi, Kyliee, Aubrie, Hastin, Aiden, and Kylin; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his two sons, Larry Jr. Adams and Gordon Scott Adams; his parents, Charles Adams and Myrtle Alberta "Bertie" Adams; and his sister, Maryann Ardoin. A Memorial Service will be held Friday June 26, 2018 at 11:00 AM from The Baptist Chapel, 10431 old Pascagoula road, Grand Bay, AL 36541.
