Lawrence "Norman" Burch, a resident of Grand Bay, AL passed away at 7:22 am on January 16, 2025 at the age of 94.

When Norman drew his last breath here on earth, his next breath was drawn in the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ.

Norman was predeceased by Ruth Elizabeth Burch, his wife of 63 plus years, his daughter Paula Burch and his son-in-law Bob Necessary.

Norman leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Olive Burch, daughter Ann Necessary, daughter Norma Jean (George) Spellmeyer and 4 grandchildren Michael (Melissa) Spellmeyer, Tracie (John Aaron) Ramsay, Lanee (Walt) Gautier, Erica (Mark) Thompson and 7 great-grandchildren Lawrence (Sarah Jane)Spellmeyer, Alex Spellmeyer, Julia Ramsay, John Ramsay, Isabelle Gautier, Noah Gautier and Ruth Elizabeth Thompson.

Norman was born May 16, 1930 to Bessie and Lawrence Burch of Brewton, AL. Norman moved to Mobile in 1946 and then to Grand Bay in 1948.

Norman became a member of First Baptist Church of Grand Bay in 1949. It was there that he met the love of his life, Ruth Elizabeth Wynn at First Baptist Church of Grand Bay. They married June 18, 1949 and were married over 63 plus years. Norman served faithfully at First Baptist Church, becoming a deacon in 1952.Norman served First Baptist Church in many capacities of leadership including Training Union Director and Sunday School Teacher. Norman strived to live for his Savior Jesus Christ sharing Jesus with others. Norman was a devoted Husband, Father and he loved his family. Norman drove a laundry truck for Burch's Cleaners for a number of years working toward the goal of being a farmer. Farming and cattle was his passion. Tilling the soil and raising cattle brought him much contentment and joy in his life right up to the very end.

Visitation and Services will be held at First Baptist Church Grand Bay, Al located at 10170 Grand Bay Wilmer Road. Visitation from 10:00 to 12:00 with Service at 12 noon and interment at Mobile Memorial Gardens
