Leslie C. Collings "Pops" passed away Friday, December 3rd, 2021 at the age of 68, from a tragic accident. Leslie, a life long resident of Wilmer, AL, was born on May 3rd, 1953 in Mobile, AL. He is survived by his wife, Edna Faye Walker Collings, his daughter, Kimberly Collings Thornton, his son, William Leslie Collings, and his grandsons Robert Douglas Pursley, Nathan Drake Alexander, Christopher Thomas Thornton, Jr., Edward Drake Collings, Anthony Blane Thornton, Tanner Nolin Thornton. He is also survived by his mother, Wilmer Odom, and his siblings, Randy Graves, Joan Conley, Linda Gipson, Kathy Christian, Christine Williams, Phillip Odom, Terry Odom, Robert Odom. Leslie is proceeded in death by his fathers, Horace Odom and Lawrence Watson, and his brother Randall Odom.
Leslie was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a hard working, dedicated crane and diesel mechanic. Leslie was a simple man whose life's goal was to use his knowledge to mentor and help those around him, whether it be family, friends, coworkers, or someone he had never met before. He was loved and respected by all that had the privilege to know him. Leslie will be missed deeply by all of his family, friends, and coworkers.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
