Leslie Wayne Hightower, 80, of Mobile, AL, went to be with the Lord Saturday, November 3, 2018 surrounded by family. He was born April 15, 1938 in Ackerman, MS. He was preceded in death by an infant sister; his mother, Bertha Reed Hightower; and his father, Leslie Hightower. He retired from the United States National Guard with a rank of CW4 and CO of 711th Sig. Bn., Fort Whiting, Mobile, AL. His survivors include his four daughters, Leslie Wood, Cindy (Randy) Whitfield, Lynna Donegan and Alene Hightower; brother, Willie (Lanelle) Hightower; sisters, Martha (James) Alford and Carolyn (Kenneth) Hood; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Funeral services, officiated by Rev. Mark Griffin, will be held Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at 12:00 Noon from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. Graveside service and interment, with full military honors, will be held in Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Spanish Fort, AL, Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at 2:30 PM.
