Linda Carole Bailey, a native of Mobile, AL, was born on November 23, 1944 to Joseph David Bailey, Sr. and Annie Josephine Porter Bailey. Linda grew up in Chickasaw, AL and was a 1963 graduate of Vigor High School. She was an avid Alabama football fan, loved playing board games and especially loved playing dominoes. She was a former member of the Daughters of the Nile and, for several years and until her death, was a dedicated volunteer of the Mobile Infirmary Auxiliary. Linda retired in 1989 from Morrison's and was the caregiver for her mother, "Ms Jo" until her passing in 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Joseph David Bailey, Jr., and her sister, Loretta Bailey Walding. Her survivors include two sisters, Joanne B. Sullivan, and Barbara B. (DeVon) Jones; sister-in-law, Ruth B. Bailey; a special aunt, Dorothy Bailey of Lynwood, FL; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Funeral services, officiated by Rev. Dr. Jerry Hedrick, will be held Friday, December 8, 2017 at 12:00 Noon from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 10:00 AM until service time. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of the Pines Mausoleum in Pine Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Miss Bailey's name be made to Mobile Infirmary Auxiliary, 5 Mobile Infirmary Circle, Mobile, AL 36607, or charity of your choice.
