Lindberg "Linda" Pope

Lindbergh "Linda" Pope beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away this Tuesday, August 17, 2021, after an incredible 94 years of life. Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Sanders Pope, her daughters, Sandra Pope Atkins and Betty Dorgan, her granddaughter Jane Erin Atkins and her great granddaughter Krista Breland.

Mrs. Pope was born on June 16,1927, one of eight children to the late Addie & John Short in Jasper, Alabama. She moved to Mobile to aid in the war effort as a welder at a local shipyard and later worked as a nurse.
She was devoted to her family and was ever present in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter Sheila Pope, her son-in-law Jerome Atkins, her grandchildren Jerome Atkins, Jr., Robert Atkins, Joshua (Grace) Atkins, Monica Dorgan, Seren Stewart and 8 great grandchildren.

Services will be held Saturday August 21, 2021, at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Three Notch Rd. with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. and the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or breast cancer research.
