Lodessa Creekmore, a resident of Mobile, Alabama, passed away Sunday, October 25 at the age of 95. He was born on March the 10th 1925 in Philadelphia, Mississippi. He attended school in Neshoba County, and later in Lauderdale County, where he graduated High School. He joined the Unites States Marine Corps at the age of 18 and served in the Pacific region during World War II. He received an Honorable Discharge at the rank of Corporal in March of 1946. In June of 1946 he married the love of his life Virginia Speed Johnson. They later moved to Chickasaw, Alabama. In September of 1948 he started his career as a Government Employee with the Air Force at Brookley Field Air Force Base in aircraft maintenance. When Brookley closed in 1965, his position provided opportunities for him to work in Madrid Spain, Sacramento California, Lisbon Portugal, and Lakenheath England. In May of 1983 he retired back to Mobile. He is proceeded in death by his wife Virginia Johnson Creekmore, his son Tony Loren Creekmore, and is daughter Leah Jeannine (Creekmore) Robertson. He is survived by his son Dan Randal Creekmore, six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Graveside services and Interment will be held on Monday, November 2, 2020 at 2pm in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends at the funeral home 12noon until service time.
