MURPHY
Lonnie L. Murphy gained his wings and went home to our Lord on September 27th, 2016 at his home in Mobile, Alabama while surrounded by his family at the age of 89. Lonnie is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy M. Murphy; siblings, Ross Murphy, Patsy Gad, Donald Murphy, and Betty DeBacha; children, Nita Kay James, Deidra A. Evans, and Robert E. Paul Jr., grandchildren, Ryan James, Jennifer K. Wynn, Raymond A. Evans, Kyle D. Paul, Tiphanie M. Evans, Shannon R. Evans, and Ashley E. Paul; great grandchildren, Jonas M. James and David A. Wynn; and their cat, KIttyPuss. Lonnie was born on August 19th, 1927 in Negreet, Louisiana. Through his life, he served the Lord and his community in several ways. Lonnie retired from DuPont in 1987. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Knights Templar, Scottish Reich, and Shriners. He bravely served his country in the Army Air Corps during War World II. Lonnie was a gracious man who put the Lord and his family first. He made impacts in many people's lives and never knew a stranger. Lonnie will be greatly missed, but is now at peace with our Father. A funeral is scheduled for Saturday, October 1st, 2016 starting at 10 AM at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation starts at 9 AM. Pastor Jay Robertson will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Lonnie's life.
