Loretta Davis

On Wednesday, October 5, 2022, our loving mother, Loretta Sue Griffin Davis passed away at the age of 73. Loretta, the daughter of Cecil and Esther Griffin, was a native and lifelong resident of Mobile County. She worked for the Mobile County Public School System for 20 years before retiring in 2009 to work full time as a grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Donald Roe Davis, Sr. Loretta is survived by her loving family; four children, Tracy Smith, Melissa Bankston, Tiffany Fosnight, and Donald Roe Davis, Jr., 8 grandchildren,1 great-grandchild, 5 siblings, and several other relatives.

Loretta was a kind and loving woman who never met a stranger. In recent years, she looked forward to traveling and visiting with family and friends near and far. In her retirement, Loretta had the chance to spend more time with the hobbies that brought her joy. Even though her gardening days were behind her, she was able to use sewing and embroidering to express her love of flowers and butterflies.

Visitation will be at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Thursday, October 13 from 5:00-7:00 pm. Services will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens at noon on Friday, October 14, with interment to follow at Serenity Gardens.
