Lorraine Eways

Lorraine Marjorie Maier Eways passed away peacefully at her home in Mobile, Alabama on February 4, 2025 at the age of 90 years old. "Lorrie" was born on January 22, 1935, to William and Daisy Maier in Ladysmith, Wisconsin.

Following high school, Lorrie worked in Minneapolis/St. Paul before moving to Washington DC to take a job at the Pentagon. There she met and married her husband, Alfred. They were married for 55 years. They moved back and forth between the Washington DC area and Germany during Al's military career.

Lorraine was an active volunteer throughout her life. She loved football, travel, music, and cooking, and played the piano and sang in the church choir. In her 80's, she took up painting, which she loved and continued to do until shortly before her death. She will be remembered by her big smile, short stature, and spunky personality.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by her three children Erik (wife Susan), Christina Goins (Michael who preceded her in death), A. Andy Eways (wife Brenda), and 5 grandchildren: Elizabeth, Joseph, Ava, Rosalie, and Andrew James. She will be remembered at a private celebration of life and placed beside her loving husband at Mobile Memorial Gardens. Rest easy Mom, you are finally home.
