Louis Francis Fisher, born February 6, 1949, passed away peacefully, Friday, June 24, 2022 with his family by his side. He was a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama.
Louie, was a member of the National Guard, and spent more than 40 years in the car business. Known by many as Big Daddy, he enjoyed fishing and hunting, and spent a great deal of his time at "Big Daddy's Hunting Camp". He was an excellent cook and loved feeding people. He was a tough guy with a soft heart who would do anything for his family, friends and even strangers. You could always count on him for a phone call and a "cute" joke.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph V. Fisher, Sr. and Jessie Paul Reed Fisher, and three brothers, Joe Fisher, David Fisher, and Troy Fisher.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Peggy Irby Fisher; daughter, Shannon Fisher Kern (Mark); two step-daughters, DeAnn Smith (Mel), Dana Coggin (Brad); brothers, Jimmy Fisher (Jimmie Carol), George Fisher, and Herbert Fisher (Pam); sister, Margie Hester; sisters-in-law, Mary Fisher and Marilyn Fisher; grandchildren, Sara Dolan Kern, Emma Kern, Julia Kern, John Smith (Morgan), Pate Smith, and Luke Coggin; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
The family will receive friends at Luke 4:18 Fellowship, 2664 Sollie Road, Mobile, Alabama on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral services, will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Luke 4:18 Fellowship. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM with the funeral service to follow at 10:00 AM. Burial will be at Mobile Memorial Gardens after the service.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Gerry Phillips, Dr. Lewis Wilson and the CCU nursing staff at Springhill Medical Center for the loving care given to Louie and his family.
